Figured I’d ask on here before renting one. Does anyone have an engine hoist I can borrow for half a day in return for a few quid?

Need to move a ~550kg item across a short distance and onto a raised surface that is 90cm high. An engine hoist seems like the obvious choice

I have something but would need to be hung from somewhere like a beam.

Cheers, need a stand alone jobbie as I’m using it to move a rather heavy pizza oven. I think I’ve found one to hire for cheap locally

I hope you don’t mind me asking, but where abouts in Yorkshire and how much for the rental for future reference?

Thanks Giblet, that’s a pretty good price.

For future reference if anyone ever needs to hire one.

The chap is called Andy, his number is 07739 467590

Now I need to find somewhere to hire a digger and a driver to lift the pizza oven

this seems like a lot of effort for a pizza!

Yup, should have stuck with my trusty Uuni 2S oven that I’ve had for a few years now. Instead I got myself into this pickle with a 500kg oven. I blame lockdown boredom!

It’s pretty much a case of needing it lifted on to the square plinth area on the left. Then I can get on with tiling the blocks and putting a worktop of some form on the right before cleaning the patio bit and tidying up the surrounding areas.
