Do you guys expect the motorways to be "normal" tomorrow?
Discussion
Hi guys,
Tomorrow I have a huge number of journeys to make to various friends and family, mostly in the afternoon.
Me and the family are arguing about the state of the M1 and M62 tomorrow Friday.
According to me, it's not a bank holiday so the the traffic will be back to normal volumes. I'll get stuck in rush hour at 17:00
According to my grandparents, a lot of people are off work until next Thursday 2nd January so I can relax and not leave home as early as I want to.
Anyone more experienced than me know what is the correct answer?
(Tomorrow I'm doing Ossett >> Leeds >> Cleckheaton >> Rochdale >> Castleford >> Ossett. I'd prefer to stick to the M1 and M62 to save time but not if I'll be stuck in the rush hour)
Thanks

There'll be a lot less commercial traffic, vans wagons etc, and loads of people won't be at work, I think you'll be fine.
eta... if you have any big reatil parks bang on the motorway you could get a bit stuck but even so by 5 all the shoppers would hve lfet

There seemed to be the same amount of cars but almost all HGVs and white vans were gone and the traffic was fine.It was very noticeable once it had been pointed out to me, it's amazing how much those commercial vehicles can affect the traffic flows.
It's half term this week so I'll keep an eye out on it this Monday and see if anything changes, I'm on the M62 again all next week unfortunately.
