Harewood Hillclimb - This Saturday and Sunday
Discussion
I have even persuaded my OH to attend on Saturday- with the promise of excellent bacon rolls , lovely views, warm weather and a paddock full of cars even more eccentric than their owners . Her first motor sport since , gosh, Goodwood Revival 2005 ..
I was at Prescott last Sunday for the first time and loved it despite the eyewatering twenty quid admission . But Harewood's elevated paddock and sublime view shade even Prescott's setting.

And to make an alternative weekend of it , go to Barbon on Saturday for the championship cars. V short hill (left , left ,foot down for a bit, sharp right , the end ) but utterly lovely setting - i think the nicest of any hillclimb I've been to, but against stuff competition from Prescott and Shelsley , and Harewood is delightful too . Good weather forecast too .

Also Fueled Society meet there on the sunday.
Lowered the average age by a decade or three . Lads next to us, first timers , looked gobsmacked at sight of single seaters going through Farmhouse at speed, and then pulling 125mph up the top straight. They should have stayed until the end, when the fastest hit a brisk 138mph ... I think in the main they will try to avoid clashes with other hillclimb and sprint events more so than other BARC circuit events as competitors not that likely to cross over. If for example Harewood/Blyton/Loton/Three sisters all had sprint/hill events on same day they could all find their entries diluted..
