A MAJOR incident featuring all emergency services has taken place at a shop in York.

North Yorkshire Police, Fire Service and paramedics swooped on the car park at the Hull Road B&Q at about 11.40am.

A fire service spokeswoman said crews were responding to “a multi-agency incident”, and said they had been alerted by police, but would not confirm what the incident was.

Passers-by said there were five fire crews, four police vehicles and the police helicopter at the scene, and one man was being detained by officers.

I wonder if the two are linked - the car in photo in second story could be the Mondeo mentioned in the first

I saw this on the press earlier today.

Suspect it's a poor chap with suicidal/depressive tendencies etc that also has for what ever reason access to something rather unpleasant and was possibly intending to use it.

As you say i'd be fairly sure that the two are linked.

Hopefully a decent outcome can be had.

I was out at lunch time (about 12.00) and a set of about 5 Police incident support vehicles with Police vans at each end blasted over Skeldergate Bridge blues and two's and in a hurray.

Thought something was kicking off, but seemed to late to be that incident at B&Q.

I did wander if someone had gone in for a pot of paint and not been seen for three days - time does seem to standstill in that place.
