DVSA Traffic Enforcement Car
Discussion
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but I encountered a DVSA Ford Focus with "Traffic Enforcement" written all over it on the M18 near Doncaster yesterday. It had camera symbols all over it like you see on the mobile camera vans as well as blue lights on the top.
Now whilst I know the Highways Agency cars don't have the powers or remit to police speeding, what is the deal with the said DVSA car? Clearly nobody else knew either as everyone slowed to 70ish and seemed reluctant to overtake it. I assumed it was for tax, mot and insurance but the Mrs wasn't convinced. And even if it does have speed cameras, can it do so whilst on the move?
Any ideas?
Cheers

It's more than likely one of the cars that pull trucks etc over to check them on weighbridges/ check tacho/ hours. There are a few "Checkpoints" dotted around the motorway network that they normally loiter around. I think the camera's are there in case the drivers don't stop for them.
