Exceptional food but relaxed surroundings? Possible?
Discussion
I’ve got to arrange a meeting for 4 people next month. It can be anywhere in the Yorkshire area (West Yorkshire would be easier for me but I don’t mind travelling).
The main issue is that I’m looking for somewhere where the food is something very memorable but where we can be comfortable going in shorts / trainers etc in the hot weather.
I was thinking perhaps a pub where they don’t heat up frozen lasagnes in the microwave for a 2 for a tenner meal deal or else a country house hotel that is not too stuffy and doesn’t require jackets in a formal dining room.
Perhaps getting Michelin quality food in a place that’s not up it’s own a*** might be impossible but anyone have any ideas?

Shibden Mill Inn near Halifax.

We walked down in shorts and walking boots on Saturday night and had a splendid meal.
(Ask to sit downstairs, rather than upstairs in the dining room).

OP here, thanks for everyone’s replies. I eventually went for the Angel (nr Skipton) as it served food all day and I showed them a few B roads afterwards for the countryside views.
But the rest of the thread shows how far the U.K. foodie scene has come. There’s some excellent choices here that I’d love to explore myself with the missus (Grassington looks great)
Even 10 years ago I don’t remember this many great choices across all price points. McDonalds and the Star Inn used to be it. Perhaps Yorkshire people (and the rest of the U.K.) have become a lot more demanding
