First post on here but been keeping reading for over 2 years and 2 golf r leases.
I had my house broken into on Monday night looking for the Keys as nothing else stolen.

What did the police say about the return/reg #? Seems there's not much they wont try to take.

Had visitors doing the same a few years back, who woke me and scarpered sharpish, had CCTV footage, etc., but plod didn't even bother to turn up & collect any evidence whatsoever!

They said they would keep a eye out for it.its got no insurance or mot so the occupants obviously won't be the registered keeper.

Probably what they call a 'pool car' where the scrotes borrow it to commit crime so different drivers and occupants on a daily basis.

Bit more info. A light coloured Ford Kuga was seen on the night of the break in entering and departing at the times that tie in. So if anyone sees one prowling keep a eye on them.

My mates just had his 66 plate SQ5 stolen from York last weekend. Looks to be a targeted theft.

It's crazy How often VW and Audi cars are stolen. We are fortunate to have some nice cars but I wouldn't have a Golf R or any fruity audi on the drive just from a safety point of view.

There's been an attempt on 6 cars in the last few nights in outwood by forcing entry to get keys,

Same here, luckily no-one wants to steal a 6 year old Focus or a Skoda!

That was the exact reason I didn’t get a golf R while stopping at my mums house,it’s visible from the main road and didn’t want any undesirables coming to house for the car especially with the amount that had been taken/stolen.

funnily I had chat with a colleague the other day who ordered a BMW 1 series company car instead of something VAG as almost all the reports of thefts or attempted thefts are VAG cars.

We've had more Golf GTE's stolen and recovered through work than anything else, thing is they all have trackers so they come back.

The scrotes came for another bash at getting the R by smashing their way into my house while I was abroad on holiday. Thankfully the have left some blood for the cops.😁.

Get rid.

Its a shame when you can't have stuff for fear of criminals nicking it but these are just so attractive to thieves it's beyond a joke. These and S3s just get rid.

I’ll run this to the end of the lease then get a Dacia.

Trouble is your car is known to be there and will be constant target. I would seriously considering speaking to the lease company and seeing if you can transfer to another car or get out completely,

Never thought of that. I’ll speak with Vwfs and see if they want to do me a swap. Cheers
