My family and I have a ridiculous tradition of trying to go as far North as possible on the longest day, June 21st. The further North you go the later the sun sets.

In the past we've got as far as John O Groats but there really isn't much to do up there in the middle of the night, even if it is still light.

This year's solstice falls on a Tuesday, does anyone fancy joining me for a run North, leaving Yorkshire and heading up the A1 to Edinburgh? We could see if any of the Scottish contingent will come out to play, maybe a late photoshoot under the castle.

With a nice summer evening it should be a pleasant run.

I'd say a drive up to Carter Bar sounds good but what with all those darn speed cameras, no way.

Sorry Mark, I will be on the way back from LeMans so cannot join you. My usual celebration is a day walking and a night drinking. I will be hinking of you on the return
