Stolen Golf R Estate and Audi A6
Discussion
Some lovely people forced my windows last night and stole:
Golf R Estate, bright red. Std spec. KW16TPZ
and
Audi A6 saloon 3.0tdi, dark grey, FY55NAE.
Stolen around midnight from LS29. It pinged ANPR towards Shipley around 12:20. We heard nothing and they ignored wallets, laptops and other keys.
Annoyingly in taking the above cars, they also took the keys for the other car which now has been recovered for re-coding.
Seem to be a few going missing locally, so take care of your keys!

pet hate, why do leeds people refer to where they live as LS29? why not the LS29 area covering the areas of Addingham, Ben Rhydding, Burley in Wharfedale, Ilkley, Menston, Bradford?

better that then they break in, cant find the keys and wake you up and then who knows.
My parents have a point, buy a safe and put important things in it not valuable things. Dont put anything in it someone may want to steal, if someone breaks in they easily find what they are looking for and go with minimal risk to you.

I take a different approach. Keys are available but not hidden. Out of line of sight from any window but on the ground floor and easily findable. I don't want a baseball bat in the face and they can have the car. Most things are replaceable and for us the things that aren't replaceable are pretty obscure and don't look valuable.Sorry to hear your news, scum aren't they ! I'm in BD23 near Grassington, with a yard full of Foresters and Outbacks I think we're low risk but the neighbours can't keep hold of Land Rovers of any kind, if they can't take the whole thing they've been known to take the doors and other body parts from Defenders.
My son has a WRX STI, his pal had a similar car, he answered his door in Skipton at 9pm one evening only to be pushed back in to his kitchen by five foreign blokes who promptly made off with his car, it was never recovered. Horrible tossers want hanging.

I know of 9 going from Wakefield alone (gti and R) I block mine in with my van and I have Chubb locks on all my interior doors so if they break in to mine it will be very slow going with the alarm going off, and while it might not be right I also keep a big spanner in the wardrobe just incase!
I'd seriously consider Chubb locks very inexpensive and slows movement if they do get in

Another Golf R theft..... Huddersfield this time. http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news...
I've seen 3 Asian guys in an older silver Audi A4/6 saloon sniffing round my Focus ST on 2 separate occasions now which has me a little concerned. Unfortunately their car was parked out in the road and nearly sideways on so couldn't get reg without putting some togs on and going outside. The 2nd time I saw them 1 of them was peering in the driver side window and the other was walking away back to their Audi. Mine is Disklok fitted and I haven't seen them since it last happened which was over a week ago now so hopefully the Disklok has put them off. I'm usually out working or up until gone 4am most nights with the house lights on so that enables me to hear and check out any noises at odd hours. I'm in a leafy area of LS16 fwiw.
Another incident in West Yorkshire, I wouldn't want any of my family or friends to own a Golf R with scum like this about. http://www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/news/masked-men-ar...
