Gents,
Thinking of sorting out a Tunnel Run in Leeds,

We did this a few years ago and was a very pleasant way to spend an hour on a Sunday morning (see the thread on here).

It's a simple format - we meet at point A, chat about cars until people arrive then we drive for 20mins to point B taking in the sights and more importantly the sounds of the route. Once at point B we get a coffee and talk about cars again.
This is not a race or anything to do with driving fast. It just allows us to enjoy our cars with very little traffic in near empty tunnels all within the rules of the road.

So date wise I'm proposing either Sunday May 1st or Sunday May 22nd. We can't do the CITP weekend as Leeds Half Marathon is on so some of the roads we would use are shut. Can't do April as waiting on some bits for my M4 from the states.

If we get some decent interest in going ahead with this then I'll need a little bit of assistance - but will cover that when the time comes. In the first instance just need a show of hand for which date works best.

cheers
Adam

I'd be up for this. As would Giblet who's currently out of the country. Free on the 1st but I'll be on holiday on the 22nd.

Always good fun these - and the earlier the start the better. I know 7am ain't everyone's cup of tea but I'd suggest meeting around then as less traffic = more fun.

Won't be able to commit until much nearer the time due to work.

I'd be up for this in principle - would have to be on the bike again though, as the car is too quiet and doesn't sound as good anyway.

Cheers,
Tom

Will you be intersecting from the left or the right?

Unless you drive under there regularly or recently i'd recommend a recce, last time I drove Westbound the various holes in the road were huge.
Apparently LCC has been given circa 10p to repair its roads so i'm not sure where exactly they'll apply it.

All in hand - recce'd most parts of the route (similar but not the same as previous years). Going to do a few dry runs to check as don't want potholes or any proposed road works spoiling things.

I'm up for this as long as it doesn't result in s59 notices for all! !

My r8 v10 is brutally loud and in tunnels it scares the carp out of folk!

I'm taking precautions. Nothing gets mentioned on social media, no route gets released prior to the start (apart from those members car's who I have seen previously), and start point gets conveyed via private message on here the week before. Don't mean to be all cloak & dagger but don't want any dheads or unwanted attention spoiling things. The previous Tunnel Runs have been really enjoyable and had a good turn out of interesting motors - hoping for the same again this time.

Providing the 993 is back on the road I would like to be there. I have almost forgotten the sound of the gundo hack.

Yup! I'd prefer the 22nd as I should have an aftermarket exhaust by then. I guess I could always just remove the backboxes if it's on the 1st.

Well he needs an initial thread to get a show of hands. That's how BB used to do it for his runs a long time ago.
