Things to do in Manchester area 10pm - 3am
Discussion
Hi everyone,
I live in south Leeds. My family's coming over to visit in mid April, and will be flying back home from MAN airport at 6am. I got some activities planned for them in the city the evening before, but we should be done with it by 10pm. This leaves us with about five more hours to fill before it's time to go to the airport, and going back to Leeds doesn't make much sense.
I was wondering if you could suggest some stuff to do or places to visit that night. It's a regular weeknight and a mixed age group. We'll have a car, so anything within a 20-mile radius goes.
Thanks.

Yikes...Sorry, I'm not from around here originally, still learning the UK geography.
Re: sleep - I'm no stranger to airport hotels and layovers, as I travel often on the job. That said, paying for a hotel room to get at best 3-4 hours sleep and check out in the middle of the night seems like a waste of money. I'm not taking it off the list, but would prefer to keep busy and let my guests sleep on the plane later.

So you'd rather keep your guests up all night?Re: sleep - I'm no stranger to airport hotels and layovers, as I travel often on the job. Check in to the Raddison Blu, 10 min walk to terminals, have dinner together and sleep until 4:00am?
A 'walk in the dark' in Taipei some years ago is one of my best memories of Asia. Lots of action going on outside at these hours, albeit with a slightly different rhythm. Not really the case in the UK, I gather.
We'll see about the hotel, or maybe just switch things up a bit and move evening plans to another day, then do the airport run straight from Leeds. Sleep deprivation isn't a problem, we're all used to working night shifts, flying at crazy hours, etc.
Thanks anyway.
