Purely for scientific reasons 
I happened to find myself in a vehicle 
that was following an ambulance on blues driving up Otley Road from town a few hours ago. The ambulance was doing a good 60 from what I could tell from the speedometer in the vehicle I was travelling in, and it was interesting to note that none of the 4x GATSOs between Hyde Park lights and the Headingley BP flashed at all for neither of the vehicles passing them at twice the speed limit. 
Perhaps of interest to you guys..

They're not Gatsos: they're Truvelos. They do flash, but it's in the infra-red spectrum so as not to dazzle oncoming motorists.

I made a slightly tongue in cheek comment on a DIY bathroom refurb thread about the tile placement going against my OCD and it appears he took exception to it (even though it's not his bathroom) and decided to troll through my other posts looking for something else to get even more shouty and angry over!

Do speed camera detectors not pick up these cameras then? My old one would tell you which were switched on in Wakey and they seemed to be randomly working throughout the week. They were the old Gatso ones.
I believe Gatsos take you from behind and the Truevelo cameras flash you from the front?
