Where to live with access to Rotherham?
Discussion
My brother is looking at a job in central Rotherham.
Where would be a good place to commute-in? Presumably over the M1 towards Sheff.
30mins max commute
Budget £500,000 to £750,000
Ideally a village/small town to raise his kids, nice schools etc
I'm going to Rightmove this question, but you can't get local knowledge on rightmove

Another vote for Cawthorne / Silkstone area, its actually Barnsley rather than Rotherham but its out on its own towards the peaks.
Actually within the Rotherham Area, just off J35 Scholes is lovely with a big paddock in the middle, very little traffic and the important, left turn toward Rotherham making the drive in a little easier. Its 5 minutes from the town centre but feels a million miles.

Bawtry would be a good choice. Back road through maltby to Rotherham won't take long. Lots of nice houses for sale in that price range. Also worth looking in bessacarr ( nice bit of Doncaster ) new slip road to the m18 makes Rotherham easily accessible.
