Disgustingly high mpg! Yorkshire folk. Get a Skoda!

Feeling a little frugal I bought a 3 cylinder 1.2 turbo diesel Fabia.
I'm stunned by the mpg.

Manchester to York on Wednesday it returned 87mpg.
Scarborough to York last time 85mpg.

Oh how I love this car!

Anyone else experiencing such mpg excitement?

I have the 1.2 tsi petrol in my ibiza, 50+ mpg is fine for me without the tractor sound track!

I average 18 to 20 mpg in my daily driver, but it is a supercharged 6.2 litre Chevy V8.

I get high 60s on my Rossendale to Leeds commute, but just hit 70.

Diesel SLKs get a right slating on PH but genuine 750 mile tank range in a 150mph mid six second 0-60 car is bloody excellent.

We get 55mpg 5 up in our Superb Estate 1.6 Greenline. I see mid-60s on my own. Amazing really.

16-18mpg here but that's on lpg which is 49.9p compared to V Power which is 120.9p.

All these cars that do millions of miles to the gallon do you genuinely enjoy driving them? When I get in a low powered car and drive, it just seems hard work to get up to speed and if anyone pulls out or gets in the way etc it's a mission to get back up to speed.

I had a company peugeot partner van with the 1.9 non turbo Diesel engine and any hill would slow it down and it was just tiresome to drive

I have various cars that have great power and just find the acceleration etc the best part about driving.

I think the best way is to gave one of both.
I love my Skoda - high mpg
I live my Porsche - lower mpg.

Each has a purpose!

Since when is a 2 seater car with 204bhp and 500nM of torque (that's a lot) low-powered? 151 top speed. 0-60 6.7s. Overtaking oomph makes it feel faster and the low down grunt exiting slow corners is fantastic.

OK, it's doubtless utterly woeful in the PH fantasy world, but in real life that's not bad and to me it doesn't feel much slower (if at all) then it's predecessor, a 5 litre V8 SL.

My car is a little bit broken atm - think a spilt hose somewhere - currently (amongst other symptoms) getting about 8mpg. Usually low/mid 20s. Only started doing the yesterday, need to get it fixed!
