Up here at the moment, her parents and brother live up here so we're up about six or seven times per year. Well, not Huddersfield itself but just outside, on the way to Holmfirth. I really like it up here! Been to watch Town lose to Derby this afternoon, going to pootle into Holmfirth tomorrow and I'll get a wash at Shine On and hopefully go for some tyres off Charlie in Meltham on Monday.

Im not making any point at all here, just saying :-)

I moved to Holmfirth 4 weeks ago from London. Really enjoying it. Head down to the carding shed / oil can cafe in hepworth for some cake, coffee and some cars if you get bored.

If you`ve got 21 minutes this 70 yr old film is a piece of social history with Halifax & Huddersfield as the setting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9j3F7_NVVzI
I thought that those contributing to the `Bradford` thread might have an interest but would be unable to recognise the region.

Highly recommend the Carding Shed. I have a house about 5 mins from there (walking).
