Tockwith driver training

I went there as part of my RideDrive day. The skid pan is a small doughnut shaped affair so you experience skidding under drive rather than under braking. I got bored after a little while because you are skidding at 3mph - it was the transition between grip and slip that interested me.
Don't even think about using your own car on the skid pan though, it's filthy.
There is also a slab of runway I've looked into renting before but you've got to be moving a bit to slide much on there.

Agreed 100%. Its a very small ring covered in oil. They supply old bangers and overalls to do it in. You skid doing no speed at all which is interesting, but not like the big skid pans that the Polce use. I started to feel dizzy because the circuit is so small - and had to start going the other way round it to stop myself from feeling ill !
The rest of the place is OK rather than brill - but the runway would benefit from a visit from a roadsweeper to get rid of the lots of stones.
