One of the Northern PH contingent needs our help....

Chumley is hanging up the TVR keys for a day and is attempting to do the Great North Run this Sunday. In typical style he has left it until the last moment to get organised!

This is an extract from the email he sent to me.

Now that summer holidays are long forgotten and Christmas is still yonks away I’m sure you’ve all got loads of cash lying around the place just begging to be spent on worthy causes. Am I correct? Good, because I’m doing the Great North Run on Sunday, in aid of The Multiple Sclerosis Society.

My employers have kindly offered to match whatever I raise with a further 50% (up to £250) so I'm really hoping to get to the £500 mark myself to make the most of their generosity. That's quite a tall order at this late stage so please help in whatever way you can (and please pass this mail onto anyone else you know who may be interested in supporting MS).

To get over the usual shenanigans of collecting sponsorship money (okay, to avoid me spending it on fast cars and slow horses...) I've set up a web page via justgiving.com where you can donate on-line.

It's quick, easy and secure and my page can be found here: --> Chumley Goes Running

I should add that I will personally match all donations made should I fail to complete the run (given that I've barely trained since July it is a very real possibility, so you really have the opportunity to stick the boot in here - make the most of it)

Once again, thanks for your support. Your generosity will keep me going as I struggle with 13+ miles of wind, rain, fog, stotties, chavs, blisters, joggers-nipple-rash, etc, etc.

Thanks for your support, it’s much appreciated.

Steve

If you can spare a couple of quid I'm sure he'd greatly appreciate it, it only takes a minute to donote via the website - honest!

GOOD LUCK CHUMLEY!!!

Oooh, me legs!!

Just wanted to post a note to say thanks to everyone who sponsored me for this. There are quite a few anonymous donations on the website so thanks to those of you who have contributed but who I haven't been able to identify.

So far we've raised over £350 for Multiple Sclerosis. I've got about another £100-150 to come from family and it looks like work may well chuck in another £250 on top of that, so a really good result, thanks very much everyone. I reiterate - please drop me a note if you're doing anything similar, I'd be glad to support you.

Steve
