Come on Burriana348 where is it?
Discussion
This is from Ferrarichat by Al...
thought the railway tunnel was the dark arches, City Square at one end, Hilton at the other? The inner ring road however also has one particularly fine example too (edited: ah, I think I know which tunnel you mean now!)
So, still meeting at 6 yes? Rick, I'll talk tomorrow, should be able to get off work a bit early so you can meet up with me at 5 if that's still ok? If you want to shoot off at 4 then I'll just follow actoss later.
And, er Yes... I am now the proud only of a Giallo/Nero 348 Spider. Drove it back up yesterday after a fitfull morning waiting for the money to land in Leyton's account.
Managed to get pulled by a Traffic car within the first hour. Came screaming up behind me lights blazing. I pulled into a layby and as I got out said, I can't have been speeding (as I was trying to figure out the stereo at that time!) he just grins at me, sticks his hand out and says "I'm Babylon, F.Chat"!!! Apparently he'd seen me going the other way, hauled ass down to the next junction and belted back up the motorway to say hello
Car is so different to the TVR and will take some time to get used to. First impressions - bloody awful seating position. If the seat is close enough to depress clutch fully, the footrest has your left leg up near your chest, and Italians obviously have long arms. Not the same kick in the back acceleration as the TVR... but over 5000 revs it just comes to life, so like I thought, once you are up to speed, there shouldn't be too much in it performance wise from the Griff. The steering is very light and it does seem to drift quite a bit at very high speed, whereas the Griff is rock solid. Again, it is something that I'm sure I will get used to, and it was pretty windy on the motorway so that may have been affecting it.
However... the car is drop dead gorgeous, sounds ace over 5000 revs even without the Tubi, and I my max 4th gear speed in the Griff, is 3rd gear in this! ... and I only hit the rev limiter once
Oh... and Vicki loves it... which is nice
Manu is trying to get my Tubi system in time for EuroHoon, in two weeks, but to be honest, I don't think it is going to happen. Shame, what with all them Alps tunnels.

This is weird, I dont even know Al, I met him at PF and thats about it. But I have been reading the threads here and there about his new car, and well, you can feel the excitement. A new car is on the way, when is it coming? this week? next week? its here!!! A Ferrari, how fantastic is that. And to share in that excitement when someone gets a new car, just from posts on a website, thats great.
Hope its everything you ever dreamed Al.

Thanks Warren.
Yes, it is all it was cracked up to be, it's a real piece of automotive art and the feel good factor is way off the scale. Thing is, I don't drive anywhere at less than 5000 revs now... buggers the fuel consumption fine style Also, it's quite novel having a car that will do 120 in third gear!
Here are a couple of pics from a little night out in Leeds that we had on Friday... you will all be pleased to know that we caused a suitable amount of commotion which befits true Pistonheads/F.Chat status And yes, the decal is on the back of the car already
1 - Outside TGIs - complete with reserved parking for ten.
2 - Letting everyone catch up after the tunnels run
