Hi all...don't normally venture in here, but hoping you might be able to help.

A bit last minute, but I need a hotel/b&b (ideally with Tuscan-friendly parking, but can leave it at a friends) for this Saturday night in York (preferably City Centre-ish, but not too bothered).

I spent a couple of years virtually living in York hotels on expenses, but the decent ones are all full, and I really don't want to pay £158 (yes, £158) for a single at the Moat House.

I can get into the Royal York for £71, but I have been advised it isn't what it once was (before my time I believe).

It's only for me - at the end of a beer/football/beer day - so doesn't need to be great, but if I am going to plumb the lower depths of the market I would appreciate some personal recommendations of where to go.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi. We stayed at the Quality Hotel just inside the south side of the wall, very central with a large NCP attended car park opposite, last year.
For asingle on that night I looked at www.laterooms.com they have a lot of good deals and specialise in well, last minute bargains.

Hope you have a good night.
