Anyone going to the hillclimb this weekend - it is the Harewood round of the British Hillclimb championship so should be some quick cars there, quite likely the hill record will get broken if the weather is good.

There is a class for Lotus 7 cars this weekend, plus all the usual categories. Practice is on Saturday, with the main event on Sunday.

I would be up for it nomally as it sounds a good day, especially in the sun, but I don't think that's going to happen

I am currently trying to figure out where to buy some wellies!

I'll let you know details of the next events - if enough people are interested I will see if I can organise a group entry price, and possibly a dedicated parking area for PistonHeaders.

I went a few weeks ago for the first time in years. The technology in the top cars has moved on a bit since last time I went, and the hill is a lot better now they´ve extended and resurfaced it.

Bugger...

I will be in France that weekend!

But if there are more hillclimbs at Harewood, I might be tempted to pop along!

It's £8 a head now, including a programme. Shouldn't make this too public, but if you arrive after 3pm entry is going to be half price. There is another event last weekend in July (I think) and one in August and another in September. Full listing is on www.harewoodhill.co.uk

£8 a head!

bit steep just to watch a few cars drive up a hill, lol.

Would be better if they charged per car.....

What other motorsport can you see for that?

Any comments on entry price would be welcome though. Trouble with a per car entry is that it would be unfair on those going on their own.

Just so everyone knows and I am not accused of anything, I am involved in the marketing committee for the hillclimb, primarily keeping the website up to date (not allowed to change the overall style of it) and trying to attract sponsors.

I am sure I can arrange a PistonHeads entry price though - would people be interested in future events at £5 a head with a dedicated parking area?

Bit late on this one but...

I would be interested in getting in on a PH parking area / entry. Been up to the last 2 big meetings at Harewood... its a great place for spectating and it would be nice to meet a few of the gang... I've not been up north for long!
