I finally have the chance to drive a (fairly) decent car and a whole Saturday free to take it where I want!

I live near Leeds, but I have no idea which roads are actually good driving roads in the area!

I suppose this is the best place to find out, so if anyone has any favourites (probably the Peak District or Yorkshire Dales/Moors) where scameras are not out in force, then I would like to hear from you!!!

Roll on good roads and good weather for Saturday!!!

Just get a road atlas and look out through Harrogate towards Skipton and up to Aysgarth Falls then East across to Richmond and back down... or, head York way, then North to Helmsley and up to the coast.... go via the little unclassified roads across the moors and chuck in some fish and chips at Whitby for good measure.

What have you got your mitts on Ben?

Shame it's not next Saturday... the nice man at Gorners is kindly lending me a Tuscan S for the day!

Get out for a 5 min break and a quick look, they are really pretty and really close to the road.

Oooooh, say hello to Mike for me, and if you're passing the front door, could be tempted to with you.

The roads are good over Tadcaster way Ben. If you head over to East Yorkshire, on towards Market Weighton (which is an area under Sheriff Al's jurisdiction) there are some real long arrow straight roads, and long sweeping corners.....sounds dull but its great fun.

Roll on next Saturday Al, is it the Nebula black one you are taking out? If so, it has the maddest sports exhausts I have ever seen. Will gladly meet up with you and Chimmers, and anyone else to go for a blast.

Sent you an e-mail Jo did you get it?

Thanks

Martyn.

If it is the 'disco' black one, could you see if my Kylie CD is still in the player please.

When I said good car, thats good by my standards (as in what I can borrow for free!)

Its only a corsa GSI (chav style!) but its better than a Micra. Its a 1.4 and its falling apart so we can drive it as we want!

As for the roads, I will check out all the places that have been mentioned!

Edited to say: Martyn, its not quite a 911 Turbo is it!!!!!!!

Its badged as a GSI200! Some kind of limited edition chav special! But as far as we know, its a 1.4!

We have already taken it to Scotland which kind of killed it, but it can take more!

Oi!! That's my old house you're driving past!!

Fantasctic road, leave York on the Hull road, down past Elvington, through Sutton, turn right towards the M62 then let hre rip. About a 2 mile straight with a lurvly right hander at the bottom then it is a long section of testing bends all the way to Howden. Turn left at Howden, back up towards Market Weighton then do it all over again on the way back to York.

In reply to the calling of this post, take the M62 towards Hull and turn off at Howden, then follow the Bubwith signs. One of my all time favourites. Along with the A697, A59, A19 (North) ......

lucky lucky lucky... well, if I'm "spinnin around" your area

Yes it is the Nebula Black one, and the drive sounds tempting but I've got quite a busy day that day.... sorting out interiors of new build, visiting kitchen designer etc etc, so it will be a good chance to see what the car is like popping (and banging!) here and there, in and out of town, and to see what the general reaction is like from passers by (might be a bit too subtle for me you see). However, I will be taking Vicki out in it to see what she thinks so we might pop over for a coffee Jo if you're in, I'll see how the time goes.

I had that car for a couple of weeks, it is a real head turner. That was the car that had a 5 year old boy shouting and pointing "look, it's the Batmobile".

Feel free to drop in if you have time, chilled wine/beer on stand-by.

Enjoy your drive Ben.

Will send you another e-mail to you chim girl.

Skinner, yes, the roads over there are great. Have not been over there in the Porker yet, but was always afraid of giving it too much stick in the chim on the long straights as the would zap me at an indecent speed. Do you get many mobile camera vans over there? You should come out playing at the next Yorks drive out if you want.

Best Regards

MOD.

I think the Micra may struggle a little.

Hi

No email from you, but I think you have the correct address for me anyway. You have the domain already, it's my surname with the first letter missing. Depending which computer I'm at; the laptop mailbox is chim_girl@..... . co.uk and the main PC is jo@..... . co.uk

Hell, I hope that makes sense!
