After the change of management at the Swan and the feeling of no longer being welcome the venue from May onwards has now changed to The Stamford Arms on the A56 at Little Bollington( on the corner where you turn down to the Swan )
Several people had suggested the Romper but had a look last night and although it may be ok on a sunday lunchtime it is far too busy on weekday evenings and the car park is too small/too busy for the number of cars attending the Car Club meetings.
The Stamford Arms has a large, non potholed, floodlit car park and the drains dont smell so most of the complaints about the Swan have been noted and hopefully everyone will be more happy with the new venue. It does good food and decent beer and several other car clubs use it during the month so they know what to expect.
It should also be easy to "change " the venue because it is on the way to the Swan so anyone who goes to there should be easily interceptable.
Please pass this information on to any members you know and lets hope this change meets with everyone's approval Steve Reid

Sounds like there might be another change of management at the Swan in the not too distant future...

It must be nigh on 12 months since I last popped down to the Tuesday night TVR meet. I won't be able to make it to the next meet, but will try and make it in June.

Keep us informed on how you get on at the Stamford.

Cheers
Steve

Excellent, I live near Hartford so that will make two Griff's within about 1.5 miles of each other.

As the swan is my 'local' have to say this is very pleasing to hear after years of calling in the service, welcome, and quality has gone completley. the last time I went in the food was so bad I politley complained - landlords answer 'f-off'

Unfortunatley I think this place will make money no matter how bad the service due to its location.

On the other hand the stamford arms is an exclent pub with decent food and a warm welcome by all the staff.

I visited the Swan for lunch a few weeks back. The food was nice - but small portions and overpriced for what it was. The Stamford Arms changed hands a couple of years ago and I do like the food and welcome there, so let's see how we get on there instead.

Incidentally Geoff, I know you have an Elise - but would you be going? I could do with sitting down and having a chat with a Management Consultant, I have a professional interest in that.

I'll see what I'm doing ... as its only 5 min I can always pop in -

Managment Consultant ... well 'professional interests' pay for the Lotus so always happy to chat. Drop me a line about what you are interested in, just in case I cant make it (and don't worry chats are foc!)

Geoff :-)
