One of the sometimes depressing things about Pistonheads, is the speed and number of threads complaining about things that have gone wrong and a lack of threads congratulating people when everything works out and a good service has been provided

Well here’s a positive recommendation for MB-Wirral in Hoylake. . . . . . . . .

I’m currently running about in an older SLK230K, nice enough little car, but as with most cars of a certain age it was suffering from a few too many squeaks and rattles, or as it was in this case, a bloody annoying banging coming from the rear suspension.
Fortunately despite Gordon Browns best efforts, both businesses are busy and I simply didn’t have time to do anything more than look to see if the cause was obvious, when it wasn’t I followed my own often proffered advice of using a marque or discipline specialist, if you want to get a problem sorted quickly and efficiently, so I went in search of a local Mercedes specialist.

A few people pointed me in the direction of Steve and Rob at MB-Wirral in Hoylake, prior to setting up the business they were the two head chaps in Mercedes Wirral / Road Range (which was one of the first main dealers to go pop, when aforementioned ahole screwed the economy) and I have to say that the service was excellent, plenty of telephone updates, lovely workshop stuffed full of nearly new Benzes, a very comfortable reception and a bill that didn’t bring as big a tear to my eye as I was fearing.

End result was two new shocks, suspension bushes a ball joint and what must literally have been a dozen hours trying to work out where the noise was coming from (prop shaft off, ALL of the suspension off, exhaust off etc) car is now rattle free and a nice place to be again.

So there you have it, if you’ve got a Mercedes and live on or near the Wirral peninsular, give the chaps at MB-Wirral a whirl

PS no I’m not being paid to post this wink
