Some questions about the Manchester Cheshire Merseyside TVR Car Club.
Am I mistaken or is there now a North Wales club that is a seperate entity to the Chesire one? Also, doesn't the Liverpool region cover Merseyside?
What events do you organise during the year on a local basis? Everything on your website looks it is organised elsewhere. Are there any meetings, runs out, car shows, BBQs etc etc that you organise yourselves?
Do you welcome new members or will I be ignored? Who is the regional officer chap/chapess?
What kind of releationship do you have with Blackpool, West Lancs and Liverpool regions?
And why is Cheshire region missing from Sprint magazine? Can you not get someone from HQ to do a regional write up that you can clone, like you have done with the regional web site?
TIA - NN

Mr Nonsense, you seem to have quite a negative attitude towards the TVR Car Club. Surely if you approach things in such a negative way you can only have a negative experience.
There seems to me looking at the events section of the regional website a lot organised locally of the type of events you are requesting, unless of course you would like Le Mans to be reorganised to be run in Cheshire.
Bit early in the year for BBQ's but I am sure if someone wants to organise one there will be lots of interest, why not turn up at some meetings, be positive instead of negative, and maybe you could organise a BBQ or a run out somewhere. As it says on the home page its your club if you are in fact a Car Club member.
Why should you be ignored, none of the regular members are ignored, they just join in and have a positive attitude.
ps there is no seperate Liverpool region.

I am a great fan of the TVR brand and have been privileged to attend a number of their events with two good friends both owners of TVR's. As a disabled person this club has always made me feel very welcome and i particularly enjoyed listening to a talk on drag racing by a member.
However it whilst i was visiting a venue that they used called The Windmill Pub,Chester Road, Tabley, Knutsford that i encountered some parking issues. I provided details of my car registration upon arrival including Covid 19 Tracking information,I had a witness with me that i did so.
Several weeks later to my surprise i got a parking charge from a company called Smart Parking and immediately contacted the pub. Communication was most difficult as i recall but i persisted,an explanation was given to a lady called Beth who assured me that the charge would be cancelled,i subsequently got a verification email to say that it had,i kept this as evidence.
To my surprise and annoyance i then got a Debt Recovery letter from a company called Debt Recovery Plus, as a vulnerable person i found their communication threatening as i believe they were inappropriately demanding money in a menacing manner. I therefore rang the company who in all honesty could not care less that i had evidence that the charge had been cancelled.
I made several attempts to contact The Windmill who did not return initially i spoke to the same member of staff but eventually got through to a lady called Kim who i believe was ether the manager or owner of the establishment. Her attitude could only be described as arrogant, stand offish and lacking in any sort of empathy with my predicament. She did not seek to establish any form of resolution or consider making any form of good will gesture, she would tell me her surname. I did however get a further email clearly stating that the charge was a mistake and had been cancelled.
I made reference to the TVR Club in our conversation and she led me to believe she was best mates with the Chairman. I would ask this Chairman to consider the facts that i have presented in this post and reflect on whether this is a suitable venue in which to hold future meetings based on my lived experience of visiting this establishment.
Perhaps just to clarify a couple of things regarding your visit to the Windmill Inn. Firstly, if I may introduce myself, I am the joint RO for Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. I know Fred Heddell has responded directly to you with my comments but perhaps worth posting them here too with a couple of additions.
The Windmill Inn is used by a number of prestigious car clubs ( eg Jaguar ) as well as ourselves. The location is excellent for our member as it is situated centrally to our region and is just 50 yds from J19 of the M6. The location is alos ideal for business people and reps leaving cars there whilst the jump into another car. The situation go so bad that customers to the pub were finding it impossible to park. The landlord farmed out the parking ANPR system to a 3rd party company. ( Smart Parking )The system works very well BUT being honest we have had a couple of errors but a quick call to the pub and everything has been sorted. In my opinionI think your gripe is with Smart Parking rather than the Windmill Inn. The Windmill clearly informed Smart Parking who managed to make a mess of cancelling your fine.
When we can once again hold meetings at the Windmill ( post Covid ) then it would be my pleasure to invite you to come along and join in the fun of our regional meeting and enjoy the hospitality of the Windmill Inn
