Discussion
Afternoon,
gf is wanting us to go walking to enjoy the autumn weather! anyone know of any walks within South Mancs, North East Cheshire area?? after no more than 5miles, if pubs are involved the better!
Spent the summer hooning about in the car so I have to make have an effort with this!
cheers

The Carrs from Wilmslow to Quarry Bank mill
a loop taking in the Middlewood Way and the canal with lunch at The Windmill
You'll need to be okay with an OS map for all but the fourth one

Hows about to the Aston Martin dealership then to a pub
apparently seeing a gorgeous DBS in white with the anthracite wheels doesn't count as 'scenic' Edited by Scooby_snax on Monday 18th October 14:57

There are paths all over the Edge and on the far side of the A34, although it would be easy for a 1st timer to get a bit disorientated! The best place to start from is the tiny car park on the Mottram road, then make your way up to The Wizard for lunch.I assume you don't just mean down the high street car spotting

For The Carrs there's parking on Chancel Lane/Cliff Road, Or Hawthorn Lane if you don't want to pay

When you going ?
And is Poynton 6 miles too far ?

Nice walks flat and circular with lovely views if you want along Middlewood way and canal, or if you want a hill over into Lyme park and round, all good stuff loads of decent pubs/cafes etc as well in the 'town' centre.
Give those Wilmslow muppets a miss and head to where it's all happening

park near the ship pub styal, bear right thru the old cottages bear right down steep path, follow your nose and the river,up and down paths for about 2miles you come out near the hotel at the side of the airport tunnel, sharp right up along side of the runway, then follw your nose back to styal village, its about 3 hours with a dog, me and jacko do it quite a bit.

no we walked along the sett valley trail away from the car park and turned right by the burned down bldg and the reservoir, i have been onto new mills but got a bit bored of the view between hayfiled and new mills, it was a bit like that middlewood way,
that bridge looks nice, below is a pic from the walk around hayfield
