Cars to photograph in Liverpool?
Discussion
I just moved over here to University, and I'm finding it very hard to get subjects to photograph. Back home I had a car so could drive and find somewhere scenic to even photograph my own car if I had nothing else, or else drive to a track day, showroom, car event to get some decent metal.
Here I'm finding it quite hard, and such losing a bit of interest in it. I've started trying to take pictures of Liverpool itself, but I prefer automotive photography.
Just wondering if there's anyone local to Liverpool, or any events happening close to the city where I could go and take some pictures.. I don't have access to a car here, so the closer the better. Or even if someone in the city would want their car photographed.. Granted I'm no GFWilliams, but I think i'm decent...

Hmm, I don't know most of Liverpool that well. I know that to see some nice metal you could do worse than go and have a look at either the Everton or Liverpool (spit) training ground? Finch Farm and Melwood (spit) respectively. You'll see some nice metal, but probably not nice scenery! Here I'm finding it quite hard, and such losing a bit of interest in it. I would like to get some nice pics done of Mrs Arese's car at some point (Alfa GT). Is that the kind of thing you'd do? Might make a nice Christmas present for her!

Unfortunately there seems to be nothing on at the moment. There was the pageant of power event in Town during the summer. Not sure if it on next year.
Failing that then there are the PH meets.
If the sun is out on a Sunday jump the train to Southport. There is always a large collection of bikes at the end of the pier. SOmetimes there are a few nice cars cruising about.
You'll find a few gems in some of the city car parks - some Astons in Queens Square and a Bentley Conti and Ferrari in the Capital car park opposite the Crowne Plaza. A Hummer is oftern outside the Beetham West Tower, and a Maserati up on Hope Street by 60 Hope Street rest. There is a 599 and a couple of Lambos lurking, but they are in secure parking - but granted they are few and far between...

I just saw this through my google alerts.
I'm actually in a very similar situation having moved to Nottingham recently for uni without a car.
I'm finding it very hard to make contacts in the area, but contacts are what matter.
I have only done one shoot in Nottingham so far, but it gives me a challenge...
I would say though that if you're doing photography for free, be careful not to steal work off the pros in the area.
