Can anyone recommend a conveyancing solicitor?

We're selling in Warrington and buying somewhere between Warrington and Northwich.

House went on the market on Friday and I accepted an offer today, so perhaps a little less prepared than we'd hoped to be at this point...

I used a Company called Simpson Millar LLP. With them it doesn't matter where you are in the country they do most things through email and online. I found them reasonably well priced too.

Simpson Millar

good luck with it all.

We ended up using one next door to our estate agent as we were on a very tight deadline. He seems fine so far and reasonably priced. We'll advise on full service once it's all complete.
It's definitely handy having one local to work where I can drop bits in at lunchtime.

p.s I'm Flatpack's OH.

Thanks, all, for the responses. I've made contact with both firms mentioned in this thread.

Cheers

Hi Kirsty

Can I ask how the opurchase is going? And how you rate this conveyancing solicitor?

A few delays now due to the solicitor not being registered with the mortgage company - not ideal. They maintain it'll not impact the proposed move dates though so I guess we've got to wait and see from that point of view. Apart from that they seem ok still.

Do not under any circumstances use Abacus_Law in Stockton Heath, or their partner office Ellison & Thomas in Manchester. They are incapable of sorting out minor details, don't appear to understand how to communicate and won't even acknowledge they are at fault and should rectify the issue at their cost. All obviously IMO.

I'm currently buying in Warrington and selling in Manchester. We are using Stephensons for both as a recommendation off here. Nothing but praise for them so far.

I don't know if its common for everyone, but I have a Partner as my case manager who answers emails all day and night, no matter the time (Even as late as half 12 at night)... so very happy so far.
