Hi,

Can anyone recommend an alloy wheel refurbishment company around the Wigan, St Helens, Warrington area please?

I have 4 16" wheels off the car ready to go, so I don't require the mobile touch-up type of repair.

Many Thanks

Last week I used National Alloys of Widnes after having them recommended to me from PH. 4 15" wheels for £140. The quality of work was fairly good. The cost included take the tyres off, refub the wheels, refit the tyres and balance (I provided new tyres and took the old casings away). Except they didn't balance them. I only realsied on the motorway on the way home. Took them to my usual tyre place to have them checked and they rolled about laughing at how far the balance was out. Cost me another £40 to sort it out. I would have gone back but I was cheesed off with them and it would have cost me £20 in fuel anyway. Also, be aware, they only take cash, not even debit cards are taken.

Thanks for the info'

I came across National Alloys on Yell, and phoned them, and their price is the best yet, they said they'll do my 4 wheels for £140.

The first thing he said was that they don't balance wheels, which isn't a problem because I'd be taking the wheels away to a tyre fitting place who'll do it anyway.

He didn't mention they only take cash though, that's good to know.

I'll give them a go if the quality of the work is sound as you say.

Thanks.

For info I've just had a set of AC Schnitzer Type II race done there.

They did a great job and split/refurbed my 4x 3 piece for £250 (cash only) but as said above you will need to get them balanced afterwards.

I also had a single Type III race split and refurbed and you can hardly tell the difference to the other 3 in the set which are brand new

Great VFM IMHO

Spot the refurbed one, 3 are brand new ?

They look great, really suit the car as well.

I dropped the wheels off on Friday, so should be ready this week.
