Anybody had any dealings with them?

Contemplating following my heart rather than my head (apparently!) and going looking at a new Guiletta over the next few weeks.

Been looking at the dealers near to me and it's Mangoletsi and Bauer Milletts that really stand out from the other 'big group owned'.

Just wondering about Mangoletsi though - they seen to know what they're talking about if their website history and the number of cars that you see with their sticker on the back (and we're talking old Alfas too!) are anything to go by.

They always seem to have tons of cars in. Not had any dealings with them but i know they sold the first 8C in the UK.

They've been going for decades and seem to have a fairly solid reputation, even though the product has over the years let them down a few times hehe

That's what i was thinking!

If a dealership can survive 45+ years selling Alfas, then they must be doing something right!

Did have one issue with their service department many many moons ago, which left the family Punto stranded on a petrol station forecourt after they'd forgotten to reattach/refit a seal which basically meant the fuel tank emptied itself... getting no apology was the biggest bugbear.

I bought a MiTo Cloverleaf from them recently and they are real petrolheads, just don't expect to get much of a discount. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again - their aftersales seems pretty good too from the, albeit limited, experience I've had.

I know lots of people that have bought (new and secondhand) from them, seem to be looked after well, our Alfa (AO)club goes there every now and then and they look after us and go the extra mile, despite them knowing we are not buying, also know a few that bought from B M, again no bad reports...smile

Personally, if I was buying a new Alfa I would get it from Baeur Millet. I've had many dealings with Mangoletsi in the past, none of them positive.

Before I bought my 147 GTA, I went out on a test run with one of their salesmen in a 156 GTA. He ragged it from cold around the country lanes of Knutsford. I walked away.

Out of the many dealings I've had with their service department, only one of them was positive.

I bought a second hand 159 from them in April. Found them great to deal with. Car was well prepared and have had no problems in first 3000 miles.

Is PWIG still a member on PH? He used to work there. I can only concur with the earlier poster about its staff - I regularly seem them caning the cars about, without a care in the world. Not clever when they are so recognisable really.

yes

He's an Alfa sales bod, over in Newcastle now. Lovely chap, worth a call in any event, you may as well scoot east and buy from him. I'm in the Midlands, but would go North to pwiggles if I were in the market for an Alfa.
