I posted this originally in Homes, garden & DIY but think I might get a better response here, so please dont move it mods.

I'm looking to move home and trying to find a reputable solicitor for a decent price. Does anyone have any recommendations?

We paid £750 for convryancing for our last home move 2 years ago, but they were in St Helens which was a bit too far and weren't that great at responding to be honest.

We live in North East Manchester and work in city centre and are moving to Warrington, so anywhere in the Manchester area would be great.

Thanks

Rouleur

If Bramhall's not too far out for you then Katie and Xavier at http://www.bramhallsolicitors.co.uk are brilliant. Katie has done lots of conveyancing for my family and friends and you won't find better.

Don't know what their fees are as it's been a few years since I moved, but they were similar to other 'proper' conveyancers.

Furness Evans in Cadishead (not far from Warrington) they are good, and no harm in giving them a call for prices. 0161 775 2210

We used Stephensons for our last move just over 2years ago. Very pleased with them.

I can tell you who NOT to use. 3 years on and still waiting on resolution to a £250k court case!

Nobody's mentioned them yet, though. smile

We moved in on Saturday, which may seem a while ago since the OP but we had a purchase fall through and some hiccups with downvalued surveys.

Just thought I would post to say we went with Stephensons Solicitors and can highly recommend them. The partner in charge of my case responded within minutes to every email which was impressive, particularly when some were past 10pm at night!
