Right folks - usual plan . .

Format will remain as it was for the Wheatsheaf meets - if we can show up before 7.30pm aiming to head out on the run at 7.30pm sharp (especially until it's lighter longer).
We'll be parked in the second part of the car park - Drive to the back of the car park and turn left into the second area - Geoff may have it coned off for us smile

Hopefully the weather will be nice and we'll be outside, if we're in the pub though can we make sure we don't stand blocking access through to the restaurant - just a little request from the owners smile

I haven't had chance to find a new route yet, so we'll do a similar route to last month, hopefully avoiding the loop round the church and rubbish detour at the start - I'll try and nip up tonight just to make sure I've got it fresh in my mind! smile

Usual convoy type rules - don't leave a junction unless you know the car behind knows where you've gone (obviously keep it safe too) and sensible speeds especially through the local villages.

Dave and I tried out the food last month and it's good smile If you want to eat before or after the run it's best to book as was pretty busy last month. The website is currently out of date so please don't rely on the menu information etc - it's no longer linked to the Colliers pub and they haven't updated thier website yet.

I'll repost the note from last month . . .
The owners (Geoff and Jackie) are happy for us to meet up at the pub however, I will stress that the pub is busy with customers eating there on a Thursday night so we must ensure we don't impact that at all - so if everyone can please stick to the second part of the car park and be polite and courteous (which I know we tend to be anyway smile )

Any questions, let me know smile

Hi folks, it's been MONTHS since i last posted on PH - mostly the shame of a car which has lots of trouble, usually serious frown

Anyhow, the Elite is still off the road and am planning on selling it off.

So! that leaves me with a crummy bouncy castle polo frown

Could I persuade anyone for a passenger ride? I'm fairly good with navigating (IMHO) if that helps biggrin

Hi,

Do you know what is wrong with it and can you get it to Stockport (im guessing you have AA or equivalent membership)? Depending on your plans I have workshop space and most tools, If you fancy some help getting her running again get in touch if you fancy selling her get in touch.

I had a professional auto electrician look at it (FINALLY admitted to friends & family it was waaay over my head). going to cost BIG money to have it properly sorted. Wiring it a total mess, requires the entire dash and engine bay wiring removing and replacing with new stuff. It's a colossus job, for a budget as tight as a tick's arse! I REALLY appreciate the offer thou - but unless you're a magician i don't think it'll help frown It's a shame really, i wanted more fun out of it :'(

Jeez, are you stalking me biggrin. I arrived home at 7.30 after having a new turbo fitted.

What should've "only" taken 4 hours or so took a LOT longer! The nuts holding the turbo to the manifold were seized and after an hour or so trying to free/snapping/grinding them off & re-drilling, another manifold was found. Then, after fitting everything, we had a constant water leak from the water inlet to the turbo. Another hour or so later, and I was driving home from Wrexham albeit on base boost (0.6 bar!!!), so I spent another hour gradually winding the boost back up to where it belongs.

Hope that you all had a good evening and, all being well, I'll be out next month.

We'll suss a better route to the fun roads for next month's - and may plan a different/new route if I get time smile

Hopefully we won't get stalked by a couple of chavs in a beaten up corsa next time - why they thought they'd be able to keep up with an S2000 I've no idea!! *although I guess I used to try in my mk1 mr2!! lol

Hi,

I don't know what experience you have with this sort of thing but making a new wiring harness is not accentually all that hard or expensive. It just takes a bit of time if its your first one. You would be surprised how much easer it is when you have the car in a work shop and can take your time on the job. I'm not offering to do it for you but, I will be in the workshop doing other jobs any way. So if you want to make use of some space and get the car going again you are well come. Remember there is very little electrical stuff on cars this age. If you are daunted by creating a new harness from scratch, you might what to buy a new kit car harness and adapt it this will obviously cost a bit more.
