Am driving from Poole to the Scottish Highlands for 10 days or so in early June. Was planning a stopover on the way up in the Lakes for 1 or 2 nights and wondered if anyone could recommend a quality hotel to stay at?

Thanks

You could also look at Pennington Hotel in Ravenglass in North Lakes. Near to Muncaster Castle.

Try finding their best rate site wink , ( i misplaced link sorry frown)

To be honest in your situation i'd look at staying northern lakes/eden valley close to M6 less pricey and less busy

or try this wink

Stayed at the Lakeside last year. Had a great room on the ground floor with a small garden etc overlooking t'lake. But by crikey....incredibly pricey. Small glass of wine was £8.00 and food in the bistro type room was rank.

I was at The Swan at Newby Bridge today-it's just opened again after a refurbishment because of the floods a few months ago.I must admit I was very impressed-nicely done out and cosy.Food looked good too.
