Unfortunately I have been in an accident in my S1 Elise. I have been hit by a car turning right and there is damage to the front clam. There doesn't appear to be any damage underneath (touch wood) from what I can see.

I have spoken to my insurer who are happy for me to use any repairer I like; I would rather it go to a specialist who is used to working with Lotuses/fibreglass.

Can anyone recommend anywhere in the north west (I am in Manchester)?

There is Christopher Neil in northwich. They specialise in Lotus and Noble and always have lots for sale. I'd try them first.

Thanks. I have just spoken with them and they were very helpful. My insurer want me to get 2 quotes so any other recommendations would be appreciated.

My insurer say these are on their approved list and are equipped to deal with fibreglass: http://www.sapphiregarage.co.uk/repairs/

Does anyone have any experience of them?

Hi, Sapphire Garage repaired my Father's almost new Focus which had a medium to heavy front side swipe, which looked initially as though they would write the car off. Sapphire gave an incredibly low quote and the car was taken to them by the insurance company. I have been in and around the motor trade all my life, and when I heard that the car was going to a repairer in Gorton, Manchester, I asked if I could go down to view the car. Their premises have proper security, and inside it was like an operating theatre, ...... it was spotless, each car had its own bay with all removed & damaged parts stored neatly by the car, and the finished result could not be faulted.

I read an article in the Manchester Evening News about 12 months or so ago, that they had now openened a Multi £m, state of the art repair facility. I would have no hesitation whatsoever of having a car repaired by them, in terms of quality of repair, presentation, customer service, ..... basically I couldn't fault them in any shape or form. I would choose them over any Lotus specialist, or any normal insurance approved repairer.

Might be worth giving Pete from PNM Engineering (Lotus specialists) a call if you have no luck with the others.

It probably wasn't Kershaw lane but one of the roads nearby but it probably was me in that area.

When i worked for my old employer, we used these guys and unfortunately they had to work on my car. (unfortunate as the crash was my fault!)

They did a good job and good updates with progress etc.

Based just near Chorley.
