Hi all,

Coming up to Manchester for a birthday soon. Just been looking at booking hotels. Which would be best in terms of closest to nightlife, bars, cinemas etc. MEN Printworks or Portland Street? Going to have to walk around anyway whilst up there as will not have cars so just checking best location.

Many thanks in adavnce, Simon

Do you want super-cheap stag do type places?

Luckily, i can usually blag a lift as im only 15 miles away, but some workmates recently stayed at Sashas hotel with it's 'internal rooms' - that means no windows!

One had no window and the light bulb went too - other than that, seemed ok - all for £30 per night!

I used to go in the nightclub in the basement many years ago(late 80's)

I seem to remember they had stuffed animals around the place???

...... there are plenty of stuffed animals around Manchester in general!! Most of them can be found around Deansgate & the Locks around 3.00am, with their skirts up past there arses, & tits hanging out!!! Most weigh in at around 14 stone, so don't expect something built for speed!!! smokin

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. I managed to get the Premier Inn for £30 per night so pretty happy. All I need to do now is find a good Indian restaurant for the Friday night curry!!

All the good Chinese restaurants are in the Princess Street area, China town, or if you want a an enormous choice of Indian restaurants, then a taxi or bus to Rusholme's famous "curry mile", which is about 1.5 miles from where you are staying.

Recommended - get to Rusholme - should be about a fiver in a cab!
