The Museum of science and industry have a da vinci exhibition going on, its more about his engineering designs than the painting, he left behind lots of drawings which have now been built and tested, you can even play with many of them :-) Includes a parachute designed 400 hundred years ago and works, tank, lots of cogs and gears driven pieces, "a forerunner" of the motor car he designed for theatre stage use and has a differential, torque machine, vertical flying thing.

I saw this when it was first shown in Milan a few years ago - fascinating stuff, and shows just how talented and groundbreaking he was.
