Hi guys, I'm working in the area for the 'forseeable' future and think I have developed cabin fever staying in the hotel. Thinking it might now be about time to get an apartment or similar in the Warrington area pref 2 bed, furnished, decentish area. Any recommendations...??

Pal of mine has just got a brand new appt near the Warrington Wolves stadium (??) furnished for £200 per week, no deposit, all bills, fully furnished, week by week deal apparently. That type of thing would be ideal as not sure how long I will be down here for although I can't help but think it sounds a bit dodgy. Anyway, any recommendations greatly appreciated and there are a number of us down here so may need a few houses / appts smile

First of all, unlucky.

Have you thought about moving out slightly to Stockton Heath where it is slightly nicer?

@sider - Based at our offices in Birchwood and travel between the office and the jobsite which is at Runcorn most days.

@cheshire cat - had a look at stockton heath and does seem to be a nicer area. Open to any suggestions really smile

Cappsy - you must live right near my offices. We're based on Leacroft Road, where Enza Motors are.

MoonMonkey - hows about looking at Newton-le-Willows?

Only 10-15 mins from Birchwood and quite a nice area.

I did my bike DAS around the locking stumps way.

Have you looked into House Shares? I'm looking at moving from Liverpool to Warrington at some point as the area seems much nicer and it's closer to my better half smile

How far are you willing to travel?

My dad lives in Lymm and works on Birchwood business park, commute takes him about 25 minutes. Few lovely B&B's in the area, also as someone mentioned Grappenhall i've just moved from there.

2 minute drive to the M6(Birchwood)/M56 (for runcorn) from both Lymm and Grappenhall and for a lovely B&B that does discount for long stays try the Rams Head Inn, friendly staff, clean rooms and the locals will welcome you. I should know most my friends work there.

It went down hill for a while (Could almost guess in which period you went) When they had problems with chefs coming and going for more money. Go back and give it a try, its nice!

ETA: Facts from knowing the management and drinking in their far too often!

Many thanks for the suggestions guys.. Keep 'em coming.

Really want to get out of a pub type of b&b arrangement. Thinking I need my own space, kitchen etc. Trying to eat reasonably healthy bar meals all the time and NOT have a few cheeky beers at the same time is becomimg a real challenge.

The swan at winwick. Sounds familiar....

I can recommend something in Grappenhall Heys; nice walks & area and a 5 minute walk to Grappenhall village (i.e Parr arms & Rams head!).
Only negative is it does attract some footballers although Mr Ireland has now moved out - which is nice ;-)

Quick search found this;
Apartment in Grappenhall Heys
