Odd parking place Warrington

On my way back and to to Warrington I often see a mini parked behind the crash barrier on the right hand side (if im on the way into town) of the A56 by the bridge by the golf course.
This morning it was a different car. Just seems a funny place to park. Anyone know why they park there? Fishing?

I used to park my car in a very odd place when i worked in Carlisle.
It was on the roundabout where the A6 just north of Preston, meets the M55. There was a bit of an odd road through the middle and a few people used to park there who got picked up and lifts onto destinations further afield.
Also, parked in a similarly weird place up near Lancaster.
Probably just something like that - kind of like 'Park n ride' on the cheap!
