As most folk who live in Cumbria will know, there are lots of areas of free parking, restricted to 1/2 hours, where you display a disc to show your time of arrival.

Lots of people have little clocks that stick in the windscreen like a tax disc and use them for the same job.

Does anyone know where to buy them? I think they used to be sold at a petrol station in Cockermouth, but that's now become and Aldi or something so isn't much good!

They're usually available from shops that have these parking areas outside them. I was given mine when I asked to buy one, I think the woman in the shop said they're free anyway.

Hmmm....

Do you mean the ones that actually stick on your windscreen that look like a clock and you move the hand?

Or the one that you lay on the dash, and is a square of card, with a wheel inside?

AFAIK it's the latter that is the standard, free one, it's the former I'm after.

Try the local petrol stations in the area of the disc parking, they normally sell them. Failing that just approach a traffic warden, they will give you the card one free of charge.smile
