Hi all,

Does anyone know of any decent Mercedes breakers around these parts? The wife ran over a football in her SLK a week ago and I've noticed that it has cracked the O/S front wheelarch liner as it forms a sort of mini undertray under the bumper. I wouldn't be that bothered but in doing so an access panel mounted in it for access to thefog lights etc has gone AWOl leaving that area exposed to whatever comes off the wheel.

I haven't enquired of MB themselves yet regarding a new one but I bet it'll be a fortune and as its a hidden bit of trim I have no concerns over a used bit. I know about Douglas Valley but in the past I have only ever had laughable quotes from them for bits (i.e. more expensive than new).

Do Dronsfield still exist in Oldham?

If so, they are a very good bet.

There's a place near me - SGN Autos, in Billinge, who are MB specialists.

Ok, not breakers but they'll probably be able to point you in the right direction. They're on Yell.com, i called today as they do MOT's too and i need one on the wife's car - im sure they're on 01744 895333.

May be worth pricing it up at the main dealer. When I had an E46 BMW I replaced the wheel arch liner which also has a small front splitter on it. It was only about £35 from BMW

Well, Dronsfilds are still there. They're currently breaking an SLK but can you guess wher the damage is? Yep O/S front corner.

Anyway, I was passing the local dealer today so I thought I'd pop in and ask out of interest. New bit with all the little plastic fixings that will undoubtedly need replacing costs £23. Seemed daft not to get a new one for that price.

No problem, thanks anyway. At least I know they're there now as there are a couple of other bits of trim I wouldn't mind getting replacements for so they'll be useful for that.
