Hi All,

I'm sure there was a thread on this ages ago but I can't find it again.

Can anybody recommend a place to get a set of wheels refurbished in Merseyside/W. Lancs? I seem to remember a while ago a place in Prescot was mentioned.

The wheels are 15 inch with mild kerbing and generally poor finish. I am thinking in the region of £50/wheel. Is that about right?

That would be Pro-clean.

They closed down but have re-established as: http://www.nationalalloys.co.uk/contact.htm

Never used them myself but intend to sometime this summer.

Thanks mate. That seems to be the one. Quite like the idea of same day service. Saves having the car on stands on the driveway for a few days. Despite you not using them before, I take it that have a good reputation?

I used proclean a couple of years ago and they did an excellent job. Very reasonable too

When I was looking I found these people

http://www.wheelrepair.co.uk/ and http://www.pxwheels.com/

I have no experience of either and would like to find out more. The latter do an exchange service but I wouldn't want that - just my own wheels back. They do have positive feedback on a Ford ST site though.

Unless someone could persuade me otherwise I wouldn't want to use a mobile service - I'd prefer the existing paint properly stripped, wheel blasted / etched, painted and lacquered.

I've used them before, they did a good job, however speaking to other people and a couple of posts on here would have me thinking that you have to keep an eye on the job and ensure they know what standard you want your wheels finishing to

I reckon so.

I've been pondering a refurb for months now and whenever mentioned, they seem to be THE place in the NW area.

I used them to a full refurb and powder coat on all 4 wheels on a friend's MR2. I ended up being charged £120 quid all in as they took a day longer than quoted. It was still only 3 days and I was very happy with the results.
Absolute bargain. Recommended.

I had my BBS done by WRC www.wheelrepair.co.uk and I couldnt speak higher of them.
Brilliant customer service and the finish on the wheels is just fantastic.
I dropped them off on a Friday dinner time for a full refurb and then to be powder coated dark anthracite, I was told they would be a week which I thought very reasonable.
On the Sunday morning I got a txt from the owner telling me they were done and I could collect when I wanted.
I used them again in December when they powder coated my inlet manifold to match my wheels, top job again.
I know lots of people who have used them and not one has ever had a bad word to say.
