A few weeks ago when driving through Hazel Grove just outside Stepping Hill hospital I noticed the 2 scameras (1 in each direction) had gone, along with the traffic island in the middle of the road they were mounted on. In its place a longer right turn lane which helps quite a bit with the morning rush hour. Then last week I noticed the camera between Stockport and Levenshulme on the A6 has also been removed.

Does anyone know why these have been removed? Is Stockport having a change of heart about cars and driving? *fingers crossed*!

There is huge pressure on Stockport from industrial property owners to stop the silliness Large ammounts of business space in unnoccupied because any new business is put off by stockports daft aproach to economic activity. Clearly a town with so many speed humps and bus lanes is not good for business. The recent refusal of Hilton hotels to take up the offer of building a hilton in the town centre but with no parking and no restaurant has caused a rethink. Particularly as MAN diesel have a range of empty offices they are not paying council tax on. CLLR Goddard is now actively engaged in a backtracking on 20 years of liberal lunacy which has led to the least attractive town in the world living on the edge of cheshires wealth belt. The councils policies were great for Mosambique but useless for a location like stockport. Since the 2 cameras have gone a 3rd in heaton norris has also gone. The death camera in high lane remains though.
