Evening Chaps,

Heading off upto York to visit big son at Uni over easter.

Wifey is wanting to head across to Manchester for a spot of shopping on Friday.

Would like some nice shops & a spot of lunch (Italian preferably).

She is on about the trafford centre. Is it worth a look??

Ideally would like nice shops of the ilk of designer clothes & shoes & nice city ambiance.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Forget Trafford Centre and come to city centre instead.

King St. for shopping.

Deansgate for lunch.

Harvey Nichols and Selfridges at bottom of Deansgate too.

Trafford centre NO...Selfridge's have a good food section in the basement - otherwise I agree with previous poster although probably the best italian restaurants IMHO are Piccolino's or the one on South King Street (forgotten name San something)

There's a nice Italian opposite Selfridges, next to the NCP car park. Cant for the death of me think what it's called though.

San Carlos? best places for italian are Piccolinos or Kroma, both at back of King street near Town Hall.

Cheers chaps for the reply's. Trafford is off the agenda, which is good and looking forward to the city centre. Fantastic drive Lowestoft to Leeds with two stops for fuel and grub. The ED30GTI likes the dualeys. Ta again chaps plenty there to consider
