I'm after a set of 205/45R16 83W's. I've just been to my usual haunt for tyres (Costco in Manchester) and not only are these special orders, but are about £120 a tyre (they blamed it on inflation confused).
Anywhoo, I was quoted about £85 a piece for Dunlop's from SEAT but after my cufuffle with them over my service I'm not going back there.
Can anyone recommend a good tyre place either around Preston or Manchester? Thanks.

Event Tyres Lola! They will come to your house/place of work. You specify a period of the day. Make sure you have your locking wheel nut key. They will do the rest.

Economy tyres coming in at 57 per corner, but I assume you don't want these.
Kumho 69
Pirelli 79
Yokohama 88
Toyo Proxes T1-R 93
Pirelli PZero Nero 95

And so on...

Min order is 85.

Your welcome.

PS They don't do Dutch Ovens, in case you were wondering like. wink

Lois, they are the same size & spec as the Furby, you should be able to get a premium tyre at around £80 - £100 a corner fitted and balanced etc.

For a guide have a look here...

http://www.blackcircles.com/

I found that when shopping for a new set for BG last year, I got the best price off the net, and then the local fitters matched it, no problem.

See here as well, although you wont get the F1's in your size.

PB Tyres in Golborne, 2 mins from M6 J23 at Haydock Park, great service and great prices.

I got 2 x 205/40/17 Kumho sports for mine for £55 a piece fitted/balanced/valved.

(Kumho's have proved very good too by the way!!)

Or try Kinders at Broughton. They always do me a good deal on standard type tyres.

Get them from 'Camskill' online and take them to be fitted at any local tyre place. Thats what I did and saved over £50 on 4 Vredesteins.
It should be £10 max to fit per tyre, I payed £20 for all 4 including balancing.

Nope - days are for sleeping! With 12 hour shifts and an hour commute back I can ring I guess but will not be in a fit state for bartering or driving anywhere far to get them. I don't cope well on nights hehe
