Not sure as very rarely in that area of the country BUT, the Ace Cafe in London seems to me to be a place where you can just call, any time of the week, and can see a decent car/bike or two. Maybe im wrong though.

Just wondering if there is anywhere similar in the North West?

Would be great just to have somewhere to go to for a chat with a likeminded enthusiast and to look over something exotic!

Good post - thanks blackburnbmw.

Suppose the obvious answer is a definate no!

Meet pubs are all good and well, but i think we really need somewhere where we can guarantee there will be interesting cars around.

My wife is pregnant and sometimes goes to bed early, 8pm early! I've found myself driving towards Southport and have stopped for a coffee or an orange juice at pubs on the way back, plus ice cream parlours, chippies, little chefs etc - but nothing in terms of cars to look at.

I did stumble across a chavvy cruise once but made mysefl scarce.

I will speak to a mate of mine who has a pub. I reckon there could be a market. Get a few Nigel Mansell pics up behind the bar and invite a few clubs over - job's a good 'un!

I think there is definately a demand for a car enthusiasts meeting place in the north west based either on the ace cafe or the goodwood breakfast club principle.
Needs to be a place near the main motorways which can provide food preferable owned a run by a car nut with a large car park on view from the eating area.
Just needs a resturant/cafe owning pistonheader to take a punt of such an opportunity.

The Swinging Bridge pub just off J10 of the M60 (near the Trafford Centre) is host to a classic Ford meet every other Thursday IIRC.

Easy to get to and has a decent sized car park.

Might be worth contacting them.

I've been in touch with a place today - an odd place, plenty of good space, good food and drink, not a bad location but not too central either - and not just a plain old fast food place.

But, he reckons Sunday isn't ideal for them. Would people be as interested at a Saturday meet??

Flyde coast area! (no more to be said just yet!!)

Saturday is personally a good day for me. Gets the 'me' time over and done with freeing me up for family time the rest of the weekend.

Kosta also bear in mind this is a breakky meet - we could be done and away by 10.30/11am.

I heard that there are a couple of guys opening up a cafe in the Bolton area with the idea of it becoming an Ace up North.

It's to be called the Iron Horse iirc.
