Wheatsheef meet, Thursday 19th March
Discussion
UPDATE - THIS HAS BEEN POSTPONED
Roll up, roll up, it's time to start up the Wheatsheaf meets again with the first one of the year this Thursday. Whether there will be a run or not depends on someone organising it as I'm really not the best person to. Anyone care to step forward?

I see what is being said on both parts here.
Runs sometimes dont work as they put off folks in slower metal. I used to go to SEAT forum meets and there was a lad who came along once who said he'd been plucking up the courage to come for two years - but he was scared he'd get left behind as he had a Seat Arosa 1.0 and didn't think he'd be able to keep up with the Leon Cupra R's on the run.
At the end of the day though - we're all car nuts and its much a case of one for all, all for one! If on a run, somebody did get left behind, we'd all wait up further down the road.

The only Wheatsheaf meet I managed to get to last summer was the one held on the night of "the big rain". Anyone remember? We ended up in Southport, Kirsty had done a set of route notes. At future meets and runs I would have thought a nominated "tail end Charlie" could sweep up the slower and the lost (hpefully not literally!) so that no-one misses out. I'd take a turn at that - I'm plenty slow.

it was that bad i missed the bloody motorway turn off!I wouldn't got a regular meet that's just a tyre kick, but while it's still dark in the evenings I'm not sure runs out are that practical especially as most people don't know the area that well. Getting split up / lost isn't a huge issue when you've only got to make your way back to the Wheatsheaf to meet up again anyway and of course there are always passenger seats going begging if anyone doesn't want to drive for whatever reason

There was suggestion in another thread of moving it, but since there doesn't seem to be much uptake so far it may be worth sticking with the last Thursday. Any thoughts/opinions?
Last Thursday better Especially given I can't make this Thursday now lol997GT3 said:
Jaik - it's normally last Thurs of the month so should it not be 26th March not this Thurs 19th??
There was a thread running for two months asking for opinions of what we should do for the meets :-)A lot of people seemed to want to go to the Lotus one closer your way as well, on the 1st Wednesday of the month, so the thought was to move the Wheatsheaf a week earlier to space them out better.
I guess whatever the majority want is the answer!!
