I've had a couple of meetings/free bar benders there over the last 3 years. Top place!!

breakfast was £17.50 each, people have probably paid a lot more else where but that was by far and away the most expensive breakfast i have ever had!

Manager and staff were setting up a marquee for a wedding on the lawn one day, when an Escort XR3i races up the drive, onto said lawn, and narrowly misses hurtling into the lake.

Turns out the numpty driving it, did not realise the road hung a left, and he simply clogged it up the driveway until he suddenly ran out of the hard stuff!
He got a huge shock, and a bill for re-turfing the lawn!

I like Barrow - it makes me realise how lucky I am living in Windermere when I get back!
I still don't understand who on earth thought that one-way system made any sense!
