Where do I get away?

OK, I live on the Wirral. I am hoping Sunday turns out to be nice weather wise...

I want to get away for the whole day, best driving roads, followed by nice pub lunch with the OH, a nice walk? Hopefully roof down, blow out some cobwebs, get some fresh air...

Hour or so away max.

Ideas appreciated.
