Best place to go-kart?
Discussion
Its my birthday on 23rd and on 20th we are looking to going go-karting somewhere.
We usually go to The Circuit (www.thecircuit.co.uk) but its getting a bit boring to be fair. We want something a bit faster/longer/more fun and somewhere we could hopefully book it out for a couple of hours for say 15 of us?
Any ideas?
Cheers

I don't like doing Indoor Karting any more, after trying Outdoor.H
The problem with Speed Karting and the like, is that whoever gets to the first corner first generally wins the race, and individual body weights play a large factor. I have won one event at Speed Karting and came Runner Up in the next, so it's not sour grapes :-) it's just not that exciting. There where much better drivers than me but I finished ahead of them due to the first corner first syndrome!!
Compared to somewhere like the Three Sisters, where you can try different lines, get involved in some great overtakes and duels, and it's just so many times better. If it rains, well that just opens up a whole new avenue of fun as we found out... :-)

i disagree just makes it harder to overtake not impossible. if you do the thing where you have say 6 races and start in each position then the better driver will still win overall
Overtaking in the wet is fun if it's a 2 hour team endurance race with about 16 karts Edited by appy on Tuesday 30th December 11:03

If you take the inside line and drive defensively people can not overtake without turning it into dodgem cars, and if I wanted that I'd be at the funfair :-)
Seriously though, indoor karting is not a patch on proper outdoor karting where you have more room to pick a better line, carry more speed through a corner and then overtake, and it's not just an indoor procession.

Slightly OT, does anyone know of a circuit that will allow my daughter, aged 9, 132cm tall, use a petrol kart?
Everywhere seems to be 140cm+, and she has outgrown leccy / funfair karts.
