Manchester congestion charge ballot result is NO
Discussion
Sounds the right result as it would just be another tax on the motorist.
Rejected in all 10 boroughs by 3 or 4 to one.
About 1 Million votes received.
.....but does this mean that there now won't be any government money for investment in the public transport systems?

Not just a 'no' but ‘no’ by a huge majority - possibly time to ask why they did not spend the money from the silly planning and that scandalous advertising campaign on things like busses and trains.
What a waste on money by a group of woolly minded people so out of touch with reality they though that they could bamboozle the real people who are Manchester.

Hurrah!!! I can't believe it, I voted "NO", but at the back of my mind, I always thought the vote result is going to be a "YES"
Same here - I made a special 20 mile trip to the postbox within hours of the ballot paper dropping onto the doormat.Shame the lentilists couldn't come out to vote in the cold weather we've had - all those opentoed sandals they wear y'see.
