Whilst it isn't necessarily my thing, I would say that visually it isn't bad.start a new site not long ago, and looking for some feedback.

Some constructive comments ...
- on the home page horizontal menu bar, either change the text colour to be white or consider a less vivid blue background (that blue is a bit bright anyway compared with the rest of the site)
- try putting the text through a spell checker. For example, on the "Our Mission" page, "compared" is not spelt "compaired". If your web page editing tools don't support it, why not try copying the text in to Word and checking it there. Spelling and grammatical errors are the quickest way to an unprofessional looking site.
Btw, how do you go about modifying an enthusiast?!

I think it's crap, to be honest.
Not a nice thing to say, but that's not my scene.
I opened it, just from looking at the home page within seconds the image of Max Power chavs in McDonalds car parks popped into my head. I closed the browser, simply not my scene. Not a nice thing to say, but that's not my scene.
The point raised above about correct grammar usage is important - depending who you want to attract.
North West Modified Enthusiasts doesn't even make sense to me as it implies the Enthusiast is modified ?!?
Rather than ask lots of different sites for opinions it might be an idea to decide who you are aiming this at, and focus it on them, if you ask different types of people you will be forever stuck between conflicting suggestions from very different groups of people.
Lastly, you need to point out why your site would offer people something they are not already getting from the hundreds of other sites etc.
All IMHO of course :-)
thanks for the replys, some i thought was a little bit...erm lol straight to the point..
the site is trying to aim away from the chav thing..we dont do the mcdonalds car park racing crap...to be fair if anyone does that we just let them stand on their own. we are looking for more mature members as i know that is more where the quality lies rather than lexus lights and big plastic spoilers.
i thought i would ask on here as i am very sure, alot of you have seen many sites come and go and therefore its a brilliant place to get the right feedback.
thanks.

If you can take straight to the point feedback in good jest, then you will go far :-)I'm genuinely quite curious as to where you are trying to position this. I guess a lot of people stick to a forum for their particular make or model of car, for specialised knowledge and advice, plus choose perhaps one more general site one such as PH to see other cars as well.
That's why I say, you'd have to be offering something to particularly catch peoples attention and make them sign up. And you'd have to be offering something say more than PH and that is very hard, ok it's very easy for me, just offer a free pie at every meet :-)

Then I fear your task makes Ban Ki-Moon's look like the easiest job in the world...Purely by the very nature of the cars you want to focus on, you're only going to get Chavs or people who haven't yet discovered that modifying a car properly takes more than just an oddly shaped bonnet and some st rear lights.
i wouldnt say that. at the end of the day, modifying is just a personal touch. whether it is the smallest thing, its taking it away from the original. so no matter what, modifying is all that.
adding tasteless things is down to personal touches. its all about the community. a forum is only as good as the people on it..
and stereotypical pricks like most people on forums is not the aim

If your forum doesn't end up swamped with Chavs after 6 months, you can call me Bazza... innit.

Just had a proper look now I'm at home. The NW events sections appears to have a pink corsa with a bodykit so tragic I'm not actually sure it is a Corsa, and I saw the comment posted above on your own main forum page.

You are not going to get (m)any serious tuned car enthusiasts with the members you already have.
You say you want to attract different kinds of modified car owners, but as soon as I saw the link with that pink corsa on it I thought WTF!!!! The only people that will attract are chavs. Each to there own but my idea of a modified car is not a 1.1 corsa with an exhaust the size of Devon and so many bits bolted to it that it weighs more than a Range Rover.
like u said VRX each to there own. but as far as im considered if someone has a 1.1 with a BIG exhaust then fine thats up to them. and i dont actually thing we do lol we have a few 1.2's thats it and even they dont have big exhaust...
anyway...dont judge a boo by its cover i suppose..but i recon you are all just sat there infront of the fire right now thinking...im guna have a drive in my ferrari...hmmmm whos the big boy...not everyone can afford a big car so why bring that up??? AS a matter of fact, that pink corsa has won numberious shows and prizes...
anyway again, thanks for the repies...i can actually only see one that is a useful reply.....

It's nothing to do with the cost of the car. With the body kit and paint job I expect the pink Corsa that's been mentioned is worth more than any car I've owned, but I've never been anything but welcome at PistonHeads meets.anyway...dont judge a boo by its cover i suppose..but i recon you are all just sat there infront of the fire right now thinking...im guna have a drive in my ferrari...hmmmm whos the big boy...not everyone can afford a big car so why bring that up??? It's just a different scene. PistonHeads is primarily about the fun of driving and performance. Bodykits just don't do it for most of the members on here, we'd rather spend the money on handling, power, trackdays etc.
To me most bodykitted Corsas, Clios, Puntos etc are just cheap superminis with a stack of cash thrown away to make the owners look like a complete tool. Likewise, most bodykitted Ferraris, Astons etc are a total tragedy of taste too.
If you want a taste of what goes down better here, look for the Corsa in the Readers Cars forum that's had a lot of positive feedback.
